What should school counselors provide regarding technological applications for students?

School counselors play a critical role in supporting students' academic and social-emotional development, especially in today's technology-driven environment. Providing training on the usage of technological applications and follow-up support is essential because it empowers students to effectively use these tools for learning and personal growth. Training helps students understand how to navigate technology safely and responsibly, enhances their digital literacy skills, and can encourage their engagement with educational resources.

Follow-up support is equally important as it allows counselors to address ongoing issues or questions that students may have as they integrate technology into their daily routines. This two-pronged approach ensures that students not only learn how to use technology but also receive the necessary guidance to maximize its benefits while minimizing risks such as cyberbullying and privacy concerns.

Focusing solely on recommendations for personal devices does not equip students with the skills they need to use those devices effectively.
